The M&P 15 Sport II features a 6-position folding stock, dust cover, front sight post, detachable upper receiver, Magpul PMAG for reliable reloading, a full-length MOE carbine-length M-LOK handguard, and the M-LOKs loose-floating barrel rails to allow customization. The Ruger AR-556 semi-auto rifle has the BCM stock for added shoulder comfort, Gunfighter charging handles, and a PNT trigger for ease of on-the-fly operations, and it has the Mod 1 compensator, of course, along with a free-floating M-LOK handguard. It has a cold-hammer-forged barrel, an easily installed, heat-resistant nylon handguard, rugged bolts machined from 9310-alloy steel with Aerospace-grade 7075-T6 aluminum billets, staked gas keys on the BCG, and the free-floating handguard to ensure outstanding sub-MOA precision.
What is cool about the Ruger AR-556 semi-auto rifle is that every component is made right here at BCM; from shot-peening, to barrel, furniture, to upper, you can certainly expect high-level reliability and ease-of-use. What I liked about the Ruger AR-556 Semi-Automatic Rifle is the buttstock and the foregrip, which gives you very convenient angles while shooting in flight during these target practice sessions. Guapoh actually prefers those stocks to Magpul PRS stocks for precision rifles, and it works great even for running-and-gun-style rifles.
Push Button Illumination thought that testing it out was going to be an interesting, but likely profoundly disappointing, exercise — I have been spoiled with far too many top-tier precision rifles, featuring precision, lightweight triggers, high-capacity, limited-production, heavy-stainless stainless barrels, and high-power scopes that have objective lenses that are 56mm in diameter. Apart from the MK 12 Mod 0 and Mod 1 tight-clones, Droppin Deuces thought a rifle had to meet all of the major specifications of the original to be eligible for the SPR. I miss the added magnification from time to time, but I generally enjoy the rifle a lot more now than when I had it configured with a larger scope. It is far more versatile now, something that Droppin Deuces feels is much more consistent with the initial intentions behind designing the SPR.
Push Button Illumination is taking over that narrative right now… Well, Vince has returned the AR15 to it is new form, and I must say, with this barrel length and profile, and a tidy muzzle brake, it looks right–probably more for looks than for functionality, given that it is quite a heavy rifle, and a 6.5 Hornady Creedmoor round.
Heres The AR15 in the diminutive scope of the rifles 3.5x PU. After several trips to the range and several hundred rounds of breaking-in mechanics, the rifle was shooting at about 3/4 to 1/2 MOA fairly consistently. The rifle was no-doubter on a small 3 swayer from 220 yards, and the 12-gauge from 625 was a no-brainer with this barrel and a reloading match. Now, the sight drops down, and you have to lift the rifle up to get it back to your target — this offsets range.
Comparing the PRI Delta with a standard rimfire buttstock, the Delta seems to provide better leverage for stabilizing the rifle versus heavier optics. The forward feed porting and unique shapes helps to alleviate the pressure within the upper receiver, which is likely caused by short-barreled rifles running suppressors. The design of both the upper and lower receivers allows shooters to swap out their barrels, stocks, handguards, grips, triggers–you name it, it can be done.
Aero Precisions Advanced handguards have keymod mounting slots in the 3, 6, and 9 clock positions, and a top Picatinny rail provides ample room for sights and optics. Leapers is now offering American-made UTG PRO M-LOK Handguards for AR-platform rifles, which are ultra-slim to the hand and allow for the barrel to freely move around in the AR. The next-generation PRS (Precision Rifle/Sniper) stocks feature aluminum reticles that allow you to easily adjust pull length and cheekpiece height. The SP-BC08 is designed for AR-platform rifles equipped with a Weaver-style rail or Picatinny.
Vortexs new Spitfire Prism scope is designed for AR-platform rifles, featuring the DRT (Dual Ring Tactical) reticle, available in either red or green. The PRS GEN3 is designed for semi-automatic precision rifles or precision rifles with small arms scopes, and mounts to both rifle-length and Mil-Spec-length carbine-length re-entry systems. Remingtons tactical rifles are also available with the PSS (green) buttstock, featuring the detachable AI magazine, a longer, moderately heavy barrel, and brake.
The Daniel Defense DDM4 V7 has all the essential features of the higher-end rifle, including flash hider, floater handguard, Mil-Spec upper receiver and lower receiver with QD swivel, and 16-inch cold-hammer-forged barrel. VLTOR MUR-1 upper, Zero Failed BCG, BCM Gun Fighter charging hand, Daniel Defense 18 barrel, Adjustable Gas Block/Mid-Length Tube, ATI 15 Free-Floating Package, Whiton Arms Deployment Comp. The QD mounting on the back of the buttstock would enable Droppin Deuces to set up the rear strap on the rifle just as they did on an older Enfield No.4 Mk. With fewer British shooters having experienced the contemporary, semi-automatic type target thanks to the ban in place after Hungerford, in January of this year, we started our Armalite Project with a new 6.5 Hornady Creedmoor cartridge barrel.
