It features a cold-hammer-forged, spiral-fluted, 16-gauge barrel that is designed to conduct heat more effectively than a normal barrel. High-performance features such as full ambidextrous controls, ambidextrous forged upper receiver with modular free floating one-piece rail, and LWRCI(tm) Cold Hammer Forged Nickel-treated Spiral Fluted Barrel. LWRC International has proprietary bolt carrier DI assembly behind the barrel, which is contained within the Monoforge upper.
The DI Model from IC is a very impressive AR-15, and it has many first-party features contributing to its overall performance. The LWRC IC DI is a high-quality rifle that will give you reliable precision and reliable service for years. If you are looking for a rifle that is really military-grade, and is loaded with power-multiplying features you can count on — then I highly recommend the LWRCI DI AR-15. One of the best ways the LWRCI IC-DI AR-15 sets itself apart from other rifles is the fact that it was designed with women in mind.
I had never shot the LWRCI rifle before, and wanted to put the DI through its paces and see if it was worth its price, reputation, and ranking. I had been shooting rifles for years, and preferred the feel of the M4 and AR-15 models, so I had to give the LWRCI IC-DI a shot. Mark F has run 100 rounds through it and has not had an FTF, FTE, or issue with anything at all (even suppressed). The fit and finish is amazing. It basically takes weight off and allows the barrel to cool quickly — something that is not what you will find on your average rifle.
The internals, like Advanced Bolt Carrier Group, are designed for smooth operation over long periods. I wish the rails were longer, but most folks will not have any trouble finding good placements for their supporting hands. Another design choice was having the rifle shorter to accommodate nearly every hand size, coupled with the folding stock. The stock can either be folded down or extended, having six positions in total, allowing it to fit shooters preferences.
The DI IC models do get warm after some time, but that is normal for smaller-diameter buttguards that are shot repeatedly. Recoil was standard, the tiny amount of 5.56 that I am used to, and subsequent shots were easily directed and controlled.
When you add all of the features standard to DIs refined aesthetics and functionality, the rifle is an impressive piece. Buying this gun means that you are getting a rifle that is aesthetically pleasing, yet also runs incredibly well – the best of both worlds combined.
The finishes, the Magpul furniture, the loose-spinning rails, the great trigger, and great accuracy all come in a package that is fairly light-weight at 6.6 pounds, which easily would have set it back a lot more than its $1,500 advertised price. After 2,000 rounds with no malfunctions, I can say that the LWRCI IC-DI is built to last, so it is well worth the price tag if you are looking for a reliable addition to your gun cabinet. The used cost of the LWRC DI rifle has dropped $0.00 USD over the last 12 months, at $1,207.53. All told, an IC DI model has seen about 2,000 rounds fired from various brands of ammunition, the most recent 500 of which were 50-grain Federal.
With a REC7 semi-auto rifles dual-position safety and full-length Picatinny-style rails for optics and or accessories of your choosing, this Barrett REC7 includes a 3-prong flash hider system, and the metallic finishes are Burnt Bronze Cerakote with Black 16 barrels. The LWRCI(tm) Di is built with the same quality of workmanship and design perfection found on every LWRCI(tm) firearm. LWRCIs made their name in the industry with their AR-15 Pistons, and they cemented their position in the market with their Direct-Impingement Rifles. Along with easy handling, coupled with reliability under less-than-ideal conditions, has made me understand why PMCs are enjoying their LWRCI rifles.
