Windham Weaponry Mpc-7 Ar-15 5.56 Nato Semi Auto Rifle 16″ Barrel 30 Rounds Mil-Spec Furniture Removable Carry Handle Matte B

Categories:

Windham Weaponrys MPC-7 follows military guidelines that everybody calls Mil-spec. One of their higher end models is being sent back to Windham Weaponry to double-check, and hopefully a follow-up report will come out shortly.

One of their top-of-the-line models is the only rifle that Windham makes that has an integral Picatinny rail, running all the way down from the upper receiver and onto a upper receiver with a floating handguard. All other rifles by Windham Weaponry incorporate stock, non-free-floating handguards, and either an A2 or M4-style furniture, but one of their top-of-the-line models looks as though the company raided a Magpul warehouse.

Or, if free floating barrels are what you are really after, for under $200 more, you can pick up a Noveske 16 Rogue Hunter, which is essentially the same rifle as Windham Weaponrys CDI (but sans AFG and sights), made by Noveske. For $40 less, you can buy the light base Noveske 16 rifle, which has a phenomenal barrel and is built to last.

If I were shopping for a new rifle, I would expect to pay somewhere in the range of $800-900 for something like one of their higher-end models, but even Buds Gun Shop lists them for $1,200+. It is entirely possible Windham Weaponrys lower-end rifle is a better buy, but at $1,680 MSRP, there are much better rifles. The bare bones, bone stock, bare bones black rifles are available for about $5 Hamilton… Heck, I could buy the most basic one at Wal-Mart all day.

WGM Tactical rifles deliver plenty of quality and accuracy, all wrapped in one affordable, easy-to-use package. I applaud the folks at California-based WGM Tactical for standing strong behind enemy lines, giving the gun control crowd nightmares, while producing some great rifles that are 100% made in the USA. Here at WGM Tactical out of California, we believe in going the extra mile, so our products are beyond the mil-spec label.

The tolerances are superb throughout, with components built and selected that all come together for a solid, refined evolution in the American black-fisted shotgun. My overall end-impressions on this carbines are that its a worthy battle-worthy upgrade from the mil-spec, mass-produced AR-15-pattern rifles that are available.

Unfortunately, the.30 caliber I had was incompatible with Allen Engineerings muzzle brake, but you can remove half the muzzle brake mount to expose the barrels 1/2 x 18 threads.

The WGM-15 is more compact than most AR-15s, but the supplied sling, Hogue OverMound grip, buttstock, and rubber Keymod port covers make for pleasant contact points between the shooter and rifle.

WGM Tactical of California told me that they only had one misfeeding report (attributing it to its magazines) and a single case jam at around 6000 rounds which has yet to repeat.

It could take another day or so for an FFL dealer to be willing to handle transferring the gun over to you. Pick the firearm up from the FFL Dealer, who will have to complete criminal and mental health background checks. Choose a local Federal Guns Licensee (FFL) dealer who will take the gun and finalize the transfer. Once the firearm is placed into the cart and has been paid for, you will receive a confirmation email with the order number and additional instructions.

Using skills and techniques learned over years of working on a Bushmaster assembly line, Windham Weaponry has begun production of AR-15 rifles targeted at the very markets that their previous corporate overlords now dominate.
